  • For the first time in a while Twitter has dropped out of the top three earners in the U.S. Interoil ($IOC) remains in the top spot on this week’s list as the company commences exploratory drilling on a new well in Papua New Guinea. Fees to borrow have been trending higher this year than last but have been considerably more volatile.
  • JC Penney ($JCP) fees to borrow are trending lower now than the peak earlier this month but remain considerably higher than the fees seen last year. Utilization has remained around this level for most of the year so far. It has been reported this week that the department store will relaunch its home goods section.
  • Arena Pharmaceuticals ($ARNA) fees to borrow are trending a touch lower over the past week after steadily rising for nearly two months. Utilization has dipped by several percentage points over the same period.

  • APR Energy ($APR.LN) utilization continues its steady rise since December’s 49% low. Fees to borrow have fluctuated since then, now returning to the levels seen in mid-December.
  • Blinkx ($BLNX.LN) has fallen out of the top place among U.K. top earners for the first time this year. Fees to borrow have held steady for the past several weeks following a steady rise since late summer. An independent audit of its oil reserves in Iraq reportedly showed lower-than-estimated levels this week.
  • Fees to borrow Gulf Keystone ($GKP.LN) were dropping in February but have been trending slightly higher again in recent days. Utilization has been rising slightly this year.

  • Utilization of Banca Monte Dei Paschi di Siena ($BMPS.IM) stock has dropped considerably in the past week, while fees to borrow have been gradually declining for the past month. The stock price showed some improvement in recent days despite the bank posting another net loss in its latest earnings statement, released this week.
  • Peugeot ($UG.FP) fees to borrow have been trending lower since the late-February peak. Utilization has come down by nearly 10% over the last month. The firm is reportedly narrowing its search for a new chairman.
  • ThromboGenics ($THR.BB) fees to borrow continue to trend gradually higher. Utilization has dropped by several percentage points in recent days.

  • Nothing new to report for our regular Asian top earner, GungHo Online ($3765.JP), as fees to borrow continue their gradual rise. Utilization still hasn’t budged.
  • Fees to borrow Celltrion ($068270.KS) stock have been gradually declining for the past month. The company announced this week an operating profit drop.
  • BYD Company ($1211.HK) fees to borrow have been trending steadily higher. So has the stock price over the past month. The electric vehicle company announced a new deal this week to supply 1,200 electric busses to a Chinese municipality.
